Week of networking events to kick off on Merseyside

Ever wondered what happened to the Merseyside Entrepreneurship Commission Report? Many of its recommendations might have been kicked into the long grass but one that has seen the light of day is an annual week of networking events, organised by St Helens Chamber of Commerce.

Now in its second year, "Mecworking Week" (we know) will this year be themed around innovation. Beginning on 12 May it will see a series of networking events taking place at venues across Merseyside.

One highlight is an audience with Michelle Mone, founder of MJM International and the Ultimo lingerie brand.

Meanwhile a business debate will take place at Aintree Racecourse on 13 May, providing, the organisers say, a platform for entrepreneurs to give their views on a range of issues. The panel will be hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside's Roger Phillips.

A range of other events will be taking place, including one hosted by the ubiquitous Professor Phil Redmond. For further information visit www.mecworking.co.uk or contact Mark Hancock on 01744 742004.

Mecworking Week was launched following the publication of the Merseyside Entrepreneurship Commission Report, which recommended an annual event dedicated to encouraging entrepreneurship and business in Merseyside.

Street Advertising Services

There are scores of ways of getting your business noticed cheaply and easily by making use of the city’s streets. Unfortunately, though, many of them such as flyposting or graffiti are downright illegal, whereas others (a nod goes out here to Manchester’s “Sabi Rock guy”) make you look like a nutter.
