Oddbins has been sold to a group led by Simon Baile. The group has bought the chain from French winemaking and retail group Castel Frères for an undisclosed sum. Simon Baile's father, Nick, ran Oddbins in the 1970s. Oddbins, has almost 150 stores across the UK and Ireland. It was bought by Castel Frères in 2001 for a reported £57m, but has struggled to gain the critical mass to compete with supermarkets.       |
